Description:
Solvent based bonded dry film molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) lubricant and coating that will bond tenaciously to all surfaces. Provides excellent lubricity and a low coefficient of friction (0.03). Molybdenum disulfide has a load carrying capacity from 225,000 upwards to 500,000 psi, beyond the yield strength of most metals. Effective at temperatures to 750°F.Technical Data:

Application Method:

McLube MoS2 844 moly lubricant is intended for use as received. Since the product is a dispersion, it settles on standing. It is necessary to mix the product thoroughly prior to use and periodically during use. If the material has not been standing for too long a period, simple hand mixing may redisperse the solids satisfactorily; however, after longer storage periods, mechanical stirring is recommended. Surfaces to be coated should be clean and dry. Any conventional application method may be employed - brushing, dipping, wiping or spraying. Although the product will dry in ambient conditions, heat curing the coating for 1 hour will increase the effectiveness and durability.

The Material Safety Data Sheet for McLube MoS2 844 should be reviewed before using the product. The precautions to be observed in handling McLube MoS2 844 are those related to the solvent blend in the product - MEK and toluene. These solvents are flammable, and thus, the product should be kept away from heat, sparks and flames. Use only with adequate ventilation, especially in enclosed areas. Safety glasses and gloves are recommended when using this product.
