Benefits of McLube

Mold Release Agents

for Urethanes

Multiple releases per application

Nonreactive coatings that will not damage PU materials

Reduced buildup on molds and tooling

Promotes excellent surface finish

Will not cause pinholing

Supported Materials

  • Thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)
  • Rigid and flexible polyurethane foam to include jounce bumpers and insulation
  • Non-isocyanate based polyurethanes (NIPUs) and IPUs
  • Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate
  • Self-skinning urethanes, integral skin, PU spray skins
  • Carpeting, seating, carpet underlay, and castable urethanes

Reduce Scrap Rates and Improve Surface Finish

McLube release agents for polyurethane and urethane are designed to provide reliable release characteristics without building up on the mold surface. Reduced buildup will cut down on cleaning time and frequency as well as reduce rejection rates due to poor surface finish or failed release. McLube offers release agents for the following surface finishes:

  • Glossy
  • Matte
  • Satin

A major concern for all molders is material contamination by the releasing agent. Our release coatings are chemically inert and bond to the mold or tooling surface for superior, contamination-free release characteristics without transfer. Our proprietary formulas resist transfer and never buildup on parts and tooling because they are non-oily, non-dusting, and dry clean on the substrate. Pin-holing is also a concern for plastics and polyurethane molders. McLube release agents have been perfected over the last fifty years to adequately wet the desired surface to form an even, durable coating that will not cause pin-holing, knit lines, cracks, voids, or surface irregularities in your polyurethane.

Release Agents for Polyurethane Spray Foam and Polyurea Applicators

The same proprietary release technology McLube developed for polyurethane molding keeps PU foam and polyurea overspray from sticking to safety equipment and applicators. McLube release agents will prevent foam and polyurea from building up on whatever surface they are applied and can be easily wiped off at the end of the day. Our release agents also dry clear for effective protection of face masks and visors. Our PU foam release agents are available in bulk or aerosol form at an affordable price even at low order quantity. McLube also offers industrial cleaning products that facilitate PU foam and polyurea removal from any surface. Contact us for free samples and safety data.
