Benefits of McLube
Mold Release Agents
McLube offers reliable PTFE mold release technology for a variety of materials, including natural and synthetic rubbers, thermoset and thermoforming plastics, and polyurethane compounds. Contact McLube and one of our experienced Technical Representatives will help you select the ideal mold release for your material.
Polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as PTFE or Teflon®, is a synthetic fluoropolymer with excellent slip characteristics, water resistance, heat resistance, and inert chemical properties. The most common application for PTFE is as an anti-stick coating on household pots and pans. PTFE, along with silicone, is also one of the most common additives in anti-stick coatings, lubricants, and release agents. PTFE powders are also common compounding and tumble lubricants.
Non-settling Colloidal Dispersions
McLube offers PTFE-based colloidal release agents with excellent release characteristics that do not require agitation (mixing) before use. McLube colloidal dispersions are effective for a variety of rubber, plastic, and polyurethane compounds. Colloidal dispersions eliminate the need for mixing before and during molding operations, saving time and making things simpler for operators.
